Twister on Buenos Aires City
« on: April 10, 2012, 03:34:43 PM »
Hi friends!!  the previous Wednesday, a tornado hit my town.
This never happened before. The city was not ready.
The result was disastrous: 30,000 homes affected
100 people injured. 17 people die.  :banghead:
600 fallen trees.
2.6 million people without electricity or water for 4 days.

My house was lucky: only lost half the roof shingles.  :)
We currently have Internet "emergency" and slowly everything will normalize.

I missed you!  I´m sorry....

Jose - M7 now ..... ;-)

damn Jose, thats bad news. I'm glad you only had minor damage, if you can think of that as minor, but like Rich says things can be fixed. I live in an area called tornado alley, though on the outer edges of it. tornado's are not nice things to go through. I'm glad your family are ok and hope you get your house fixed quickly.

Thanks guys, as you say, what matters is the few victims: truly a miracle.
For us it is the first time on record.
There was not a "large tornado", but, winds of 150km/h in a city of 14 million residents ... is a big problem!!

Thank god, I was at home with my children and my parents and my wife was at work: a safe school to 7 km distance .... all very good.
everything else can be fixed.  :)

It's good to hear that you and your family were not hurt Jose, beware of crooked contractors as they flock to areas hit by storms and such.

Wow. Glad to hear your family is safe. I didn't see anything about it on the news here.
