The following is important information on GPU'S that you may want to know.!

How to Make a dummy plug for your GPU..

How to make a VGA Dummy plug

If you have a computer that you want to have turned on, without the need for at screen, a VGA dummy can ensure that the computer can boot. I usen my VGA dummy on a server, which is controlled through RealVNC.

Theory and Materials

Diagram for VGA Dummy

The theory is simple. The computer must be tricked to think a screen are connected to the graphics card. This is done by three resistors which simulates the resistant in a screen.

Pin Name Description
1 RED Red Video (75 ohm, 0.7 V p-p)
2 GREEN Green Video (75 ohm, 0.7 V p-p)
3 BlUE Blue Video (75 ohm, 0.7 V p-p)
6 RGND Red Ground
7 GGND Green Ground
8 BGND Blue Ground

Parts for VGA Dummy

To make the VGA dummy you need a male VGA connector, three 75 ohm resistors and, if you want the deluxe version, a housing for the VGA connector.

Soldering

VGA connector, soldering

The resistors are bent and the leads are cut to a suitable length. The leads fit in the holes in the pins, making it easy to solder the components.

Casing for VGA connector

After soldering the only thing left to do, is to mount the VGA connector in the housing.

VGA Dummy

That is it, the VGA dummy is finished and ready to be used on my server.

These are Cuda capable cards and mobile chips By: NVIDIA

You may find that your card listed below may work on other projects like Seti@home, Collatz or The Milkyway Project.

If so please let us know and we will post it here.

Cards that are marked red will not run the projects application.
Cards in black are technically able to run these applications, but are to slow to finish the work units in time or would need continuous babysitting on a multicore system. These cards are hence not recommended by the project.
Green cards will run the current applications without problems, if there is any please consult the Forum..!

The following information is geared for the GPU GRID Project:
